CE-Ventures Joins $100 Million Investment in US Nuclear Tech Firm Aalo Atomics

New york: CE-Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Crescent Enterprises, has announced its participation in a significant $100 million Series B funding round for the US nuclear technology company, Aalo Atomics.

According to Emirates Press Agency, the fundraising effort was led by Valor Equity Partners, with CE-Ventures joining other investors such as Fine Structure Ventures, Hitachi Ventures, and Crosscut Ventures. Since its inception in 2022, Aalo Atomics has gained momentum and was recently chosen by the US Department of Energy (DOE) for expedited testing of its advanced nuclear technology.

The funding will aid Aalo Atomics in constructing its first nuclear power plant, with an ambitious goal to reach zero-power criticality by July 2026. This development is a crucial milestone toward proving the efficacy of its mass-manufactured modular reactors, which are poised to power AI data centers efficiently. The accelerated technology demonstration process aims to reduce risks and hasten commercial readiness as the US seeks to advance next-generation nuclear solutions to meet the growing energy requirements of the AI era.

Sudarshan Pareek, Senior Vice President at CE-Ventures, emphasized the importance of this investment, stating, "We are at a pivotal moment for advanced nuclear technology, and we view Aalo Atomics as a true leader in this new atomic age." He highlighted the role of nuclear power in meeting the surging demand for reliable energy due to AI adoption, noting CE-Ventures' commitment to investing in pioneering companies.

CE-Ventures boasts a diverse global portfolio, focusing on strategic investments in early- to late-stage high-growth companies and venture funds. Its parent entities, Crescent Enterprises and Crescent Group, have a strong history of supporting impactful capital and promoting responsible growth in technology, energy, and UAE-US infrastructure.

Matt Loszak, CEO of Aalo Atomics, expressed excitement about the funding, saying, "We now have the capital to build our first nuclear power plant, the Aalo-X, which we're aiming to turn on next summer." The plant is expected to be the first advanced nuclear power plant in the US to achieve criticality in decades. Loszak conveyed gratitude to their backers for this opportunity to advance nuclear energy's potential.

The US Department of Energy's Reactor Pilot Programme, which selected Aalo Atomics, was initiated in June 2025 to speed up the testing of advanced nuclear technologies. This selection underscores the growing interest in modular nuclear reactors as a safe and sustainable solution to increasing energy demands.

Aalo Atomics plans to establish an experimental data center adjacent to its test plant, demonstrating DOE-authorized reactors powering AI infrastructure. With the International Energy Agency predicting a substantial increase in global electricity demand from AI-optimized data centers by 2030, new-generation nuclear technologies are positioned as a viable clean energy solution for global growth.
