Chile Elects Jos Kast as President


Chile: Chile’s ultra-conservative former lawmaker Jos Antonio Kast won the presidential election Sunday, defeating the candidate of the centre-left governing coalition.



According to Emirates News Agency, Kast secured 58.2 percent of the votes, while his challenger, communist candidate Jeannette Jara, garnered 41.8 percent of the vote.
