Hatta: The Community Development Authority (CDA) has unveiled its participation in the #HattaWinter event with the launch of the 'Hatta Unites Us' Festival, a vibrant celebration of local entrepreneurship and culture.
According to Emirates News Agency, the festival showcases the talents of 35 home-based entrepreneurs, who present a range of locally crafted products including traditional foods, confectionery, perfumes, textiles, and artisanal goods. This initiative not only highlights Hatta's rich tradition of family enterprise but also offers participants unprecedented access to broader markets.
Visitors to the festival can engage with a variety of experiential offerings, such as 'Hatta Memories,' a visual display of the region's history, hands-on traditional craft workshops, a kitchen serving community-inspired dishes, and a cultural stage featuring performances and discussions. These elements aim to connect audiences with Hatta's creative and entrepreneurial spirit.
The festival also emphasizes Dubai's dedication to inclusive community development. A special platform for People of Determination has been established in collaboration with the Sheikha Maitha Bint Rashid Al Maktoum Centre. Additionally, a Majlis for senior citizens provides a venue for storytelling and intergenerational dialogue, enriching the visitor experience with local narratives.
Ali Al Qassim, Director of Benefits and Financial Empowerment at CDA, emphasized the festival's role in expanding economic opportunities for home-based entrepreneurs. He noted that 'Hatta Unites Us' offers an authentic glimpse into local life and serves as a critical platform for families to expand their businesses and connect with new audiences. This initiative aims to transition home-run enterprises into viable businesses within the local market, thus empowering them to contribute to Hatta's economic development.
Al Qassim added that CDA is committed to bolstering a support system for these entrepreneurs, focusing on market access, skills development, and long-term economic sustainability. This support includes programs for senior citizens and People of Determination, ensuring wide-ranging participation and community benefit.
The CDA invites the public to experience the 'Hatta Unites Us' Festival, a celebration of creativity, culture, and community spirit, while exploring new avenues for family enterprises in one of Dubai's distinctive winter destinations.
