Community Development Authority Strengthens Support for Senior Citizens and People of Determination

Dubai: The Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai is actively engaging with senior citizens and People of Determination to assess their well-being and reinforce its commitment to their support. This initiative highlights the Authority's human-centred approach, focusing on building strong community connections, enhancing social reassurance, and promoting solidarity, which are core values of UAE society.

According to Emirates News Agency, these efforts underline CDA's dedication to its community role in caring for individuals and ensuring family stability. The Authority's teams are maintaining regular contact with senior citizens and People of Determination, as well as their families, to understand their needs. This approach reflects the Emirati values of compassion, solidarity, and mutual care.

These initiatives are part of the 'Year of the Family' and align with the goals of the Dubai Social Agenda 33. This agenda centers on family as a cornerstone of development, aiming to create a cohesive and stable society that enhances the quality of life while preserving human dignity.

CDA highlighted that the spirit of solidarity and cohesion is deeply ingrained in Dubai and the UAE community, fostering a sense of unity and stability across diverse circumstances. This community strength is a testament to the shared security and stability within society.

Maitha Al Shamsi, Executive Director of the Community Empowerment Sector at CDA, stated that senior citizens and People of Determination are integral to the community. She emphasized the importance of maintaining communication with them and their families, ensuring their well-being, and reinforcing their sense of support and care.

She further noted that reassurance stems from sincere human interaction and cohesive family units that support emotional well-being. The CDA continues to share awareness messages to help families respond calmly and thoughtfully to various developments.

The CDA also publishes materials for families on supporting children, People of Determination, and senior citizens both psychologically and behaviorally. These resources stress the importance of maintaining calm, managing news exposure, and fostering positive family dialogue to enhance household security.

In addition, the CDA organized a virtual session titled 'Managing Emotions to Support Families,' aimed at raising community awareness and offering practical guidance to families. The session provided tools to help families maintain psychological balance and affirmed the role of the family as a safe and reassuring environment.

The CDA reiterated that Dubai's community has consistently shown resilience and awareness, supported by values rooted in cooperation and solidarity, guided by leadership that prioritizes people and family.

The Authority concluded that the spirit of solidarity and mutual care will continue to be a source of strength and reassurance, enhancing the sense of security and belonging for all community members.
