Seoul: H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, has arrived in the Republic of Korea to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum on behalf of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE's participation at the forum is in response to an invitation from Lee Jae-myung, President of the Republic of Korea. This involvement is part of efforts to bolster economic cooperation among APEC economies and to explore opportunities to expand strategic partnerships across key sectors.
The APEC Forum, which was established in 1989, gathers leaders and heads of government from its 21 member economies with the aim of promoting regional economic integration. It seeks to advance free trade, encourage investment, and achieve sustainable development goals. APEC members account for approximately 40 percent of the world's population and about 60 percent of global GDP, making the forum an essential platform for regional cooperation in addressing global economic issues.
