Dubai: Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Ltd on Thursday announced that it has reached an agreement with Royal Air Maroc for the lease of 13 new Boeing 737-8 aircraft. The aircraft are scheduled to be delivered in 2027. This follows an earlier agreement to lease two Boeing 737-8 aircraft to Royal Air Maroc, which were delivered in 2025.
According to Emirates News Agency, Firoz Tarapore, Chief Executive Officer of DAE, expressed optimism about the deal, citing Morocco's growth as a tourist and business hub in Africa. He highlighted the expanding air connectivity led by Royal Air Maroc and expressed anticipation for the new aircraft's integration into the fleet, emphasizing the ongoing support for Royal Air Maroc's future fleet needs.
Abdelhamid Addou, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Air Maroc, commented on the strategic alignment of the agreement with the airline's ambition to enhance global connectivity. He noted that the Boeing 737-8 aircraft will bolster their network development capabilities, facilitate new route openings, and improve operational efficiency. Furthermore, he emphasized the enhanced flexibility to meet growing demand while ensuring reliable connectivity between Africa, Europe, and beyond.
