Dubai Industrial City Attracts Over AED1.7 Billion Investments in 12 Months

Dubai: Dubai Industrial City has attracted more than AED1.7 billion in total investment across vital economic sectors including food and beverage (F and B), heavy equipment, energy solutions, automotive, and light industries over the past 12 months, the district announced during the 'Make it in the Emirates' forum.

According to Emirates News Agency, the investments attracted by Dubai Industrial City, part of TECOM Group PJSC, underscore the district's pivotal role in supporting the UAE's industrial strategy and solidify its position as a leading destination for foreign direct investment (FDI) by manufacturers seeking global and regional growth from Dubai.

Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President - Industrial at TECOM Group, emphasized the significance of accelerating advanced industries to unlock long-term economic growth. He highlighted the district's commitment to nurturing homegrown excellence in the UAE and noted that the investments over the past year demonstrate the appeal of the ecosystem to manufacturers and investors globally. This contributes to Dubai's status as a leading hub for FDI, aligning with the goals of initiatives like Operation 300bn, Make it in the Emirates, and Dubai Economic Agenda 'D33'.

The past year has seen significant growth across six dedicated zones at Dubai Industrial City, catering to industries such as base metals, machinery, minerals, F and B, transport, and chemicals. The investments build upon the city's reputation as a preferred location for manufacturers, offering specialized infrastructure like industrial land, storage, and logistics spaces.

Among the new entrants to Dubai Industrial City is Elite Group Holding, a diversified UAE-based conglomerate developing a 1 million sq.ft. integrated facility worth AED100 million to boost growth in automotive and e-commerce sectors. Pure Ice Cream is investing AED80 million in a production facility, while OZON Pharmaceuticals is establishing a production hub worth over AED293 million, spanning 150,700 sq.ft. at the district.

The 'Make it in the Emirates' forum offers a platform for industry leaders like Dubai Industrial City to influence the future of the regional manufacturing sector and advanced industries. The district, hosting more than 1,100 manufacturers and over 350 operational factories, plays a crucial role in the global supply chain, providing connectivity to regional and international markets.

Strategically located near Jebel Ali Port, Al Maktoum International Airport, an Etihad Rail freight terminal, and key road networks, Dubai Industrial City provides access to a vast consumer market. It is positioned within an eight-hour flight from two-thirds of the global population.
