Dubai: The Dubai Event Security Committee (ESC) has confirmed its complete readiness for the New Year's Eve 2026 celebrations, with comprehensive security, organisational, and service plans in place to ensure the global event is executed to reflect Dubai's reputation for hosting world-class celebrations and major international events.
According to Emirates News Agency, the announcement was made at a press conference at the Dubai Civil Defence HQ, attended by senior officials from key government and partner entities involved in securing and organising the celebrations. This year's festivities will feature 48 fireworks shows at 40 locations across the emirate, including iconic sites such as Burj Khalifa, Global Village, and Atlantis The Royal.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander in Chief of Dubai Police for Operations and Chairman of the Event Security Committee, stated that 55 entities are collaborating under a unified security framework. The emirate has been divided into four operational sectors to ensure smooth coordination and efficient service delivery. Support and assistance tents have been set up across celebration sites to provide police services, first aid, and logistical assistance.
The public is encouraged to follow safety instructions, and emergency reports can be made via 999, while non-emergency requests can be directed to 901. Dedicated viewing areas have been allocated for workers, featuring large screens and meals, in coordination with the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs in Dubai.
Dubai Police has deployed nearly 10,000 officers and 1,625 patrol vehicles to secure the celebrations. The deployment includes marine security and rescue boats, bicycles, and mounted patrol units. Major General Al Mazrouei praised the teamwork of the Events Security Committee, wishing everyone a happy New Year.
Major General Expert Ali Hassan Al Mutawa, Assistant Commander in Chief for Fire and Rescue Affairs at Dubai Civil Defence, confirmed the completion of preparations, with over 1,750 firefighters deployed to ensure immediate emergency response. The celebration sites have been divided into five sectors for optimal service delivery, and safety compliance has been ensured across vital facilities.
Hussain Al Banna, CEO of the Traffic and Roads Agency at RTA, announced full readiness to manage traffic and public transport, with advanced technologies being used to predict traffic volumes. Public transport capacity has been significantly increased, with more than 14,000 taxis and over 1,300 buses in operation. Dubai Metro and Tram services will operate continuously for extended hours during the celebrations.
Mishal Abdul Karim Julfar, Executive Director of Dubai Corporation Ambulance Services, confirmed full operational readiness with 236 ambulance points activated across the emirate. The public is advised to follow official guidance, especially individuals with chronic conditions.
Khalifa Baqer, COO of Dubai Health, confirmed a proactive healthcare plan including the deployment of medical staff and the establishment of a field hospital in the Burj Khalifa area. Home healthcare and telemedicine services will continue to be available 24/7.
Engineer Adel Al Marzooqi, CEO of the Waste and Sewerage Agency at Dubai Municipalitys, stated a readiness plan focused on public safety and comfort. Fireworks and drone shows will be presented from Dubai Frame, and public beaches will be designated for families.
Dr Maitha Buhumaid, CEO of Marketing and Communication at Dubai Media, confirmed preparations for comprehensive coverage of the New Year 2026 celebrations. The coverage will include a special programme celebrating the visions and poetry of Dubai's leaders.
Ahmad Juma Al Falasi of Emaar Properties confirmed readiness to welcome celebrants in the Burj Khalifa area, and Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri announced that 1,800 individuals have volunteered for police-support activities, highlighting community partnership and the culture of volunteering.
ESC officials commended the dedication of all field teams, reaffirming Dubai's commitment to delivering a safe, organised, and memorable New Year celebration for everyone.
