Abu dhabi: The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), in collaboration with the Federal Youth Authority, has unveiled the formation of its Youth Council, featuring a promising group of young talents from its employees. This council aims to bolster the involvement of youth in the Ministry, empowering them to take active roles in decision-making and contribute to the development of diplomatic and consular work environments, in line with both regional and international advancements.
According to Emirates News Agency, this initiative is in alignment with the National Youth Agenda 2031, which strives to position Emirati youth as a leading model both locally and globally across multiple sectors. In tandem with this announcement, MoFA organized its first Youth Retreat to introduce the Youth Council and its strategic objectives, fostering a platform for dialogue and the exchange of ideas to support and empower youth in shaping the future of Emirati diplomacy.
During the retreat, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Omar Obaid Alhesan Alshamsi, via remarks delivered by Mohammad Ahmad Almansoori, Chair of the MoFA Youth Council, emphasized the necessity of young competencies in today's diplomatic landscape. The formation of the Youth Council reflects this vision, with young professionals actively contributing to decision-making and supporting the Ministry's efforts in nurturing a promising generation of diplomats.
Interactive workshops titled 'The Strategic Pillars of the MoFA Youth Council' were conducted during the retreat, focusing on crafting initiatives aligned with the Council's objectives. Participants engaged in discussions on potential challenges, opportunities, and the impact of initiatives, culminating in a strategic roadmap to guide the Council's future work and empower youth within the Ministry.
The MoFA Youth Council, established in 2018, aims to prepare a new generation of diplomatic leaders and enhance their future readiness. It has played a vital role in empowering young talents, fostering innovation, and contributing to strategic initiatives that support the UAE's foreign policy. The Council's efforts align with the Federal Youth Authority's objectives, contributing to We the UAE 2031 goals, particularly in youth empowerment and preparing future leaders in diplomacy.
