‘Edge of Life’ Campaign Raises Over AED2.822 Billion Before End of Ramadan

Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, announced the remarkable success of the "Edge of Life" campaign, which has raised over AED2.822 billion, surpassing its target ahead of Ramadan's conclusion. The campaign aimed to rescue five million children from hunger, drawing contributions from 44,208 individuals, businesses, and prominent humanitarian and philanthropic organizations.

According to Emirates News Agency, the "Edge of Life" campaign was launched by His Highness on February 13, 2026, with an initial goal of raising AED1 billion to combat childhood hunger globally. His Highness expressed gratitude to the contributors and emphasized the UAE's commitment to philanthropy as a core national value.

Contributions were made through seven channels, including the campaign's website, call centers, and bank transfers, as well as SMS donations, the DubaiNow app, YallaGive.com, and Jood.ae. The campaign partnered with UNICEF, Save the Children, the Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), and Action Against Hunger, focusing on children in vulnerable communities affected by natural disasters and conflicts.

Mohammad Al Gergawi, Secretary-General of MBRGI, highlighted the campaign's embodiment of His Highness's vision to improve life conditions for the vulnerable through international partnerships and philanthropy. He stressed the UAE's dedication to addressing humanitarian issues like childhood hunger, supported by significant contributions and pledges from various organizations.

The campaign received AED2.115 billion from partners and announced a new US$300 million partnership with UNICEF and CIFF to implement life-saving nutrition programs globally. A Suhoor event at Armani Dubai Hotel facilitated additional pledges from philanthropic leaders, contributing to the campaign's success.

The Most Noble Number charity auction, organized with Emirates Auction and supported by Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority, raised significant funds. The auction's success, along with other initiatives, reflects the UAE's ongoing commitment to humanitarian efforts, following the success of previous Ramadan campaigns under Sheikh Mohammed's directives.

The campaign's achievements are part of a broader history of successful initiatives, including the '10 Million Meals', '100 Million Meals', and '1 Billion Meals' campaigns, among others, demonstrating the UAE's enduring dedication to global humanitarian causes.
