Abu dhabi: Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) today unveiled the EGA Academy, a strategic initiative aimed at transforming capability building and career development within the industry to support the future growth of EGA and the broader UAE industrial sector. The academy seeks to enhance productivity, boost economic contributions from the aluminium sector, and create new job opportunities, aligning with Operation 300bn's goals.

According to Emirates News Agency, the EGA Academy offers high-impact learning and development opportunities for EGA employees at all levels. This initiative features structured development pathways, expert-led learning, and real-world experiences designed to build technical, professional, and leadership skills required in today's dynamic industrial environment. Programs are tailored to support employees' professional ambitions, ranging from early-career trainees to experienced specialists and leaders.

The academy introduces the EGA Academy App, a new custom-built digital platform that enables employees to explore development options, track progress toward career goals, and receive continuous feedback to accelerate personal growth. Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, Chief Executive Officer of EGA, emphasized the importance of talent development for business competitiveness and the UAE's industrial growth, describing the academy as a significant step forward in providing unparalleled growth opportunities for employees.

EGA Academy operates at EGA's Al Taweelah and Jebel Ali sites, integrating all of EGA's training and development programs, including the flagship National and Graduate Training programs. Established in 1982, the National Training programs prepare high school graduates for technical roles in the company's industrial operations and administration. The Graduate Training program, aimed at university graduates, offers 18 to 24 months of training for supervisory positions in corporate functions or industrial operations. In 2024, EGA hired over 220 UAE Nationals, including participants in the National and Graduate Training programs.
