Montreal:Elisa Longo Borghini, representing the UAE Team, secured a gold medal for Italy in the Mixed Relay Team Time Trial at the UCI Road World Championships.
According to Emirates News Agency, Italy achieved the fastest time over the 40.6-kilometre course, finishing eight seconds ahead of France. Switzerland secured the bronze medal, trailing by 20 seconds.
Two additional UAE Team riders participated in the event. Paula Blasi finished sixth with Spain, 1:11 behind the winners, while Dominika Wlodarczyk placed eighth with Poland, 1:49 behind. This victory marked Longo Borghini's 27th appearance at the UCI Road World Championships, setting a record for the most appearances by an Italian cyclist in the event's history.
