Emirati Businessman Pledges AED8 Million to Edge of Life Campaign

Dubai: Emirati businessman Gheyath Mohammad Gheyath, owner of GINCO Group, has announced a contribution of AED8 million to the Edge of Life campaign, joining a growing list of contributors in the mission to rescue five million children from hunger. The campaign was launched during Ramadan by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, aiming to raise at least AED1 billion for sustainable programs to combat childhood hunger globally.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Edge of Life campaign is an initiative of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and has received a strong community response. It promotes a unique philanthropic approach, encouraging community-wide participation to establish sustainable giving and meet its goal of protecting millions of children from hunger and malnutrition. The campaign partners with UNICEF, Save the Children, the Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), and Action Against Hunger.

Gheyath emphasized that the campaign aligns with the UAE community's values and commitment to aid underprivileged populations worldwide. He remarked that the Ramadan campaign embodies the UAE's core values of extending a helping hand and ensuring access to basic needs for vulnerable populations, particularly children facing hunger and malnutrition.

He stated, 'Contributing to this campaign reflects our commitment to supporting the UAE's humanitarian efforts guided by our leadership to uplift vulnerable communities, provide a lifeline for millions of children whose health and survival are undermined due to a lack of care and nutrition, and the necessary means to avoid hunger.'

The campaign continues to welcome donations from institutions and individuals through seven main channels, including the campaign's website (www.edgeoflife.ae), a dedicated toll-free call center (800 4999), bank transfers to Emirates Islamic Bank, SMS donations, and platforms like the DubaiNow app, YallaGive.com, and Dubai's Jood (Jood.ae) contributions platform.
