Sharjah: Europe's powerful Ariane 6 rocket successfully launched 32 Amazon internet satellites into orbit on Thursday, marking another milestone for the Ariane 6 program. The launch took place at 4:57 a.m. EDT (0857 GMT; 5:57 a.m. local time in Kourou) from Europe's Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.
According to Emirates News Agency, the satellites were deployed as planned, with all 32 satellites successfully released by an hour and 54 minutes after liftoff. The mission, known as VA268 by Arianespace, was the seventh flight of the Ariane 6 rocket and the second of its most powerful variant, the 64, which includes four strap-on solid rocket boosters.
Amazon has booked a total of 18 Ariane 6 flights to support the buildout of its satellite constellation, showcasing the collaboration between Amazon and Arianespace in expanding global internet coverage.
