FANN Unveils Workshops to Enhance Children’s Visual Arts Skills

Sharjah: Embodying the vision of H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, FANN – the Media Discovery Platform – is launching a series of creative workshops this May for children and youth aged 6 to 18. The initiative aims to empower young artists, enhance their knowledge, and develop skills in filmmaking, multimedia, animation, and photography. The workshops are designed to motivate participants to pursue their passion in various fields of media and visual arts.

According to Emirates News Agency, the workshops align with the Foundation’s goal to instill a culture of creativity and excellence among young people and to enhance Sharjah’s reputation as a child- and youth-friendly city. Huda Safar Al Harmoudi, Deputy Director General of the FUNN Foundation, emphasized the foundation’s commitment to providing innovative platforms that support children and youth in acquiring knowledge and exploring new media art forms.

FANN continues to offer its ‘From Script to Screen’ training program, running until 25th May, to provide promising talents with an opportunity to explore filmmaking basics. The program targets youth aged 15 to 18, and under the supervision of Maryam Al Serkal, participants receive training in scriptwriting, filming, directing, and editing. This groundwork enables young people to produce short films that express their creative visions, which will be showcased at the Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth in October 2025.

In addition, Sahar Abdullah presents the “Eid with Art 1” workshop, running until 8th May, for children aged 13-15. Participants will learn to design Eid-themed packaging, including gift cards, mugs, posters, and gift box covers. In collaboration with Tamakn, FANN will host the “Eid with Art 2” workshop on 14th and 15th May 2025, focusing on designing Eid envelopes and cards using digital tools.

The Foundation is also preparing the “Family Photography” workshop on 24th and 25th May, led by Ola Al Loz. This workshop targets youth aged 15-18, introducing them to photography techniques, lighting elements, image composition, and visual storytelling. It will emphasize family portraiture, providing participants with essential skills in this art form.
