France Formally Recognises Palestinian State

Paris: French President Emmanuel Macron has confirmed his government will formally recognise a Palestinian state, joining a wave of countries to do so in recent weeks. According to Emirates News Agency, this decision follows similar moves by the UK, Canada, Australia, and Portugal, all of which recognised a Palestinian state over the weekend. President Macron, speaking at the UN General Assembly, emphasized the desire for two states to coexist peacefully and securely.
