Moscow: Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, engaged in discussions with Shaikh Rawi Ainuddin, Grand Mufti of Russia and President of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Russia, to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation. The discussions were aimed at achieving shared objectives and supporting initiatives to foster a culture of tolerance, coexistence, and respect for diversity and pluralism. These efforts are intended to reflect the positive and civilized image of Islam.
According to Emirates News Agency, during his visit to the Religious Administration in Moscow, Dr. Al Darei, along with Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Ambassador to the Russian Federation, was briefed by Shaikh Rawi Ainuddin on the initiatives undertaken by the Religious Administration to serve the Muslim community in Russia. The focus of the briefing was on providing religious services, enabling the practice of religious rituals, promoting the understanding of Islam's tolerant values, and reinforcing adherence to its noble teachings, which contribute to societal happiness and prosperity.
In response, His Eminence expressed his gratitude for the UAE's efforts and its leadership in promoting the values of peace and coexistence among various religions and cultures. He highlighted the importance of strengthening the bonds of brotherhood among peoples through dialogue, tolerance, and mutual respect.
