Hamdan Bin Mohammed Approves AED18 Billion in Landmark Projects to Shape Dubai’s Future

Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, has approved new transformative strategies and projects with a budget of AED18 billion designed to enhance quality of life and shape a better future for residents.

According to Emirates News Agency, the initiatives span culture, trade, infrastructure, Emiratisation, finance, investment, urban planning, and population census. Chairing a meeting of The Executive Council, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan highlighted Dubai's commitment to ambition and achievement under the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. He emphasized the city's continuous progress and its dedication to future planning while delivering present-day achievements.

The Dubai Cultural Strategy 2033, led by Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aims to position Dubai as a leader in cultural innovation, rooted in the UAE's heritage. This strategy, aligned with the Dubai Plan 2033 and Dubai Social Agenda 33, includes 40 initiatives supported by sectoral and key performance indicators. Major initiatives like the Dubai Cultural and Creative Innovation Programme aim to support local talents and attract international creatives, significantly increasing Dubai's cultural asset footprint and GDP contribution.

The Dubai Customs Strategy 2030 focuses on trade facilitation, economic partnerships, and security enhancements, striving to boost Dubai's global competitiveness and trade hub status. Additionally, the First Al Khail Street Development Plan was approved, featuring a strategic corridor parallel to Sheikh Zayed Road, which will enhance road network efficiency and reduce travel time significantly.

The Real-Time Population Census and Growth Monitoring Initiative, 'Dubai Population Now', led by the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment, utilizes AI for urban planning, projecting Dubai's population to reach 4.58 million by the end of 2025. The Executive Council also approved the Emirati Talents Strategy in Private Education, targeting significant Emiratisation in the sector by 2033.

The Dubai Investor Register aims to support the Dubai Economic Agenda, facilitating operations and reducing costs for investors. A new visual identity for Dubai's address system was also approved, enhancing geographic orientation and navigation.

Moreover, the Global Centre for Technology and Innovation in Islamic Finance was launched, positioning Dubai as a leading hub for Islamic fintech, with significant market growth projected by 2030. Key initiatives include innovation challenges and forums to support the sector.
