Hamdan Bin Mohammed Engages with Pioneering AI Companies at Dubai AI Week

Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation, met with representatives of the first group of companies awarded the Dubai AI Seal, during his visit to Dubai AI Week 2025.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Dubai AI Seal, launched in January 2025 by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) under Sheikh Hamdan's directives and aligned with the Dubai Universal Blueprint for AI, aims to promote trust in reputable AI companies and reinforce Dubai's position as a global AI leader. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the importance of fostering partnerships between government entities and specialised technology companies working on AI applications both within and beyond Dubai.

Sheikh Hamdan stated, "A few months ago, we launched the Dubai AI Seal initiative to create a comprehensive framework that fosters partnerships between government entities and specialised technology companies working on AI applications in Dubai, the UAE, and beyond. Today, we celebrate the first group of tech companies to receive the Dubai AI Seal and we look forward to expanding these partnerships in the future."

He further highlighted the city's proactive approach to technology's transformative power in enhancing the quality of life and improving government performance. The initiative underscores Dubai's strategic ambitions to harness AI effectively.

The Dubai AI Seal is awarded to companies that meet stringent evaluation criteria, providing a structured framework for secure partnerships between government entities and trusted technology providers. Certified companies are identifiable through a unique serial number and classification, ensuring they uphold high standards of quality, security, and responsible AI use.

Participation in government AI projects in Dubai requires companies to obtain the Dubai AI Seal, which certified companies can display across their digital platforms and promotional materials. This highlights their credibility and alignment with Dubai's strategic AI vision.

Technology companies licensed in Dubai that offer AI-related products or services are assessed on key criteria, including the nature of AI activities and services, the number of specialized AI engineers employed, current and upcoming projects, and partnerships with government and private sector stakeholders.

The initiative aims to create a trusted network of AI providers, opening new business opportunities, enabling responsible AI adoption, and recognizing the sector's economic significance and potential for job creation and long-term partnerships.

Overseen by the Dubai Future Foundation, the DCAI supports government entities in adopting emerging technologies, developing AI-related regulations, attracting global solutions, empowering national talent, and enhancing the quality of life for Dubai's residents.

Sheikh Hamdan's engagement with AI companies during Dubai AI Week reaffirms Dubai's dedication to building a future-ready AI ecosystem rooted in trust, innovation, and strategic collaboration. The event hosts 10,000 participants from over 100 nationalities, featuring more than 180 speakers, over 150 sessions and workshops, and more than 140 activations. It takes place from 21-25 April 2025, gathering global leaders from startups, corporates, governments, and academia to shape AI's future.
