Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) has announced an extension to the submission deadline for the third edition of the Make it in the Emirates Awards. Companies, factories, and individuals across the UAE now have until April 30, 2025, to submit their entries for national recognition.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Make it in the Emirates Awards are a key initiative under the UAE's industrial strategy, celebrating innovation, resilience, and excellence within the manufacturing and advanced technology sectors. These awards play a crucial role in supporting Operation 300bn, the national strategy aimed at expanding the UAE's industrial sector to AED300 billion by 2031.

The awards are structured across nine categories and five strategic pillars, highlighting achievements in smart manufacturing, sustainability, innovation, in-country value (ICV), leadership and talent, and the preservation of traditional crafts. MoIAT has partnered with the University of Cambridge as the official Technical Evaluation Partner to ensure the highest evaluation standards, applying rigorous international best practices for a transparent and impartial judging process.

Organised under five main pillars, the awards include categories such as Excellence in In-Country Value (ICV); Factory of the Future with subcategories like Sustainable Manufacturing Award, Smart Manufacturer Award, and Excellence in Innovation Award; Industry Enablers and Strategic Partners with subcategories like Industrial Strategic Partner Award and Quality Award; Leadership and Talent with subcategories like Young Talent of the Year Award and Inspirational Leader Award; and UAE Traditional Crafts for individuals and companies.

The evaluation process will commence immediately after the submission deadline, with winners to be announced on the first day of Make it in the Emirates 2025, scheduled from May 19-22 at ADNEC, Abu Dhabi. In 2024, the awards attracted over 670 submissions, with 13 winners recognized for advancing industrial resilience and innovation.

Make it in the Emirates 2025 is expected to be the largest edition yet, featuring more than 500 exhibitors across 50,000 square meters of exhibition space, emphasizing the scale of the UAE's industrial transformation. Applications can be submitted through the official awards portal.
