HIPA Concludes Judging for ‘Power’ Season, Shares Inspiring Instagram Contest Works

Abu dhabi: The Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) has announced the completion of its judging process for the 14th season, themed 'Power', which commenced on July 1st.

According to Emirates News Agency, Ali Khalifa bin Thalith, the Secretary-General of HIPA, emphasized the organization's commitment to confidentiality and fair opportunities by revealing the jury members' names only after the judging process is finalized. This year, the competition saw more than 87,000 photographs evaluated, with entries coming from over 50,000 photographers. The photography community is now eagerly anticipating the winner announcements in November.

Bin Thalith expressed satisfaction with the quality of entries received and noted a decrease in the number of submissions rejected for reasons such as incomplete entries or intellectual property law violations. He attributed this improvement to the increased awareness of the competition's rules and regulations among photographers, highlighting the positive impact of HIPA's ongoing efforts.

In addition to concluding the judging process, HIPA published a collection of inspiring winning photographs from the 2025 Instagram competitions. The themes for these competitions were 'Environmental,' 'Human Imprint,' and 'Children.' Notably, Bahraini photographer Zakariya Omran (@zakariya_omran) won in the 'Environmental' category, and a photograph titled 'All the Feelings of the World' was recognized in the 'Children' theme.

All winners were awarded the competition's honorary medal, and their photographs have been showcased on HIPA's official Instagram account (@HIPAae).
