Abu dhabi: The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has announced new amendments and additions to entry visa regulations. The updated regulations include the launch of four new visit visa categories for specialists in artificial intelligence, entertainment, events, cruise ships, and leisure boats.
According to Emirates News Agency, a humanitarian residence permit has also been introduced, which is valid for one year and can be extended by decision of the Authority, subject to specific conditions. In addition, a residence permit for foreign widows or divorcees is granted for one year, with the possibility of renewal under defined conditions.
The updated regulations further introduce a visit visa for friends or relatives, which allows sponsorship up to the third degree based on the sponsor's income. The business exploration visa mandates financial solvency for establishing a company, ownership of a share in an existing company outside the country, or proven professional practice. Meanwhile, the truck driver visa requires a sponsor and entails health and financial guarantees.
The new regulations also feature clear schedules detailing the authorised duration of stay for each visa type and outline the applicable conditions for extensions.
