Innovations Unveiled at Airport Show to Accelerate Digital Transformation

Dubai: The 24th edition of the Airport Show served as a platform to unveil and introduce cutting-edge technologies and services aimed at expediting digital transformation and operational innovation. These advancements are reshaping airport management and enhancing safety and passenger experience.

According to Emirates News Agency, the event saw participation from exhibitors and aviation experts from over 30 countries. Key enablers such as artificial intelligence, digital identity solutions, and predictive control technologies were highlighted for their role in equipping airports to meet rising air travel demand and develop smarter, future-ready infrastructure.

Smiths Detection presented its advanced Hi-Scan 6040 CTiX Model-S computed tomography scanners, designed to enhance security, operational efficiency, and passenger flow through improved checkpoint screening technologies.

DroneShield, a leader in AI-driven counter-drone and electronic warfare technologies, showcased its latest innovations in AI-powered SensorFusion AI, RF detection, and electronic warfare capabilities. These include handheld and fixed-site systems specifically designed for airport environments, where maintaining operational continuity and public safety is crucial. Tim Butcher, Sales Director at DroneShield, emphasized the importance of safeguarding airports from the increasing threat of unauthorized and hostile drones to ensure the safety and security of global aviation ecosystems.

IDEMIA unveiled its advanced multi-modal biometric identity technologies, featuring instant facial and iris recognition and AI-powered baggage handling systems. Gaurav Gupta, SVP, Global Head of Sales at IDEMIA Public Security, highlighted their commitment to transforming airports into smarter, more efficient environments by reducing processing times and congestion while maintaining high security standards.

Barco presented its integrated control room solutions, combining the CTRL unified management platform with advanced TruePix visual display technology. Andr© Herbst, Sales Manager at Barco, explained that these solutions provide airport operation teams with comprehensive situational awareness and intelligent tools for real-time decision-making, enhancing airport efficiency and reliability.

Forbo Movement Systems introduced two innovations aimed at sustainable airport operations: the Amp Miser, an energy-efficient conveyor belt that reduces energy consumption by up to 50%, and the EcoFiber, a conveyor belt made from recycled PET, which combines high performance with environmental sustainability.

Amana Aviation Fueling participated in the Show to strategically align with local and international clients, including Dubai Airports, Abu Dhabi Airports, and Sharjah.

Delta Dassault showcased its POLARIS Portable Lighting System and VISTA Advanced Airfield Lighting System. These systems are engineered for tactical and emergency aviation operations, offering wireless control and ICAO-compliant visibility, making them ideal for temporary or remote-site heliports and airstrips.
