Dubai: The Board of Directors of the Arab Media Award (AMA), chaired by Mona Ghanem Al Marri, has concluded the selection of winners for the 24th edition of the award. The meeting, held virtually, involved discussions on the evaluation and screening phases, which adhered to a comprehensive set of criteria to ensure fairness and transparency. The award experienced strong competition among media institutions, journalists, and writers from the Arab world.
According to Emirates News Agency, Mona Ghanem Al Marri expressed her appreciation to the board members and contributors for successfully completing the award's various stages, culminating in the selection of this year's winners. She commended the judging panel and screening committees for their efforts to ensure the most deserving winners were chosen, emphasizing the award's ongoing commitment to integrity and impartiality.
Al Marri highlighted that the award not only celebrates excellence and encourages creativity but also aligns with Dubai's vision of media as a catalyst for human development. She reaffirmed the board's dedication to enhancing the award's impact on Arab media, positioning it as the region's leading platform for recognizing outstanding work. This year's edition saw a significant volume and diversity of entries from across the Arab world, all evaluated by independent, qualified committees.
Dr. Maitha Buhumaid, Secretary-General of the Arab Media Award, emphasized that the award's development is a continuous process, with regular reviews by the Board of Directors to adapt its structure and categories to the fast-changing media landscape. This approach reflects the UAE and Dubai's broader commitment to innovation and excellence across all fields.
Jasim Al Shemsi, Director of the Award, announced that the winners will be honored on 27 May during the Arab Media Summit, in a ceremony attended by prominent media personalities and Arab journalists. The award comprises three categories: Journalism, Digital Media, and TV. These include awards for Political Journalism, Investigative Reporting, Economic Journalism, and various TV program categories, among others. The 'Media Personality of the Year' award and the 'Best Columnist' award are determined by the Board of Directors, recognizing influential contributions to the Arab media landscape.
The Arab Media Award is part of the Arab Media Summit, which includes the third Arab Youth Media Forum on 26 May, the 23rd edition of the Arab Media Forum on 27 and 28 May, and the Arab Social Media Influencers Summit. The Summit will feature award ceremonies for the Arab Media Award, the Arab Social Media Influencers Award, and the Ibda'a - Arab Youth Media Award.
