Iranian Foreign Minister Warns of Repercussions of Continued Israeli Aggression in Gaza

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian warned that the continuation of the Israeli aggression against Gaza and the siege imposed on it may extend to other areas in the region, if the Israeli entity does not stop its destructive war against the Gaza Strip.

The Iranian Foreign Minister said after his meeting Friday in the capital, Beirut, with the caretaker Lebanese Prime Minister, Najib Mikati that what is important to Iran is the security of Lebanon and maintaining calm there, and this is the goal of my visit, and he proposed holding a meeting for the leaders of the region to discuss developments in the situation.

For his part, the caretaker Lebanese Prime Minister stressed the necessity of exerting all diplomatic efforts by all parties to stop the events taking place in Gaza and protect Lebanon.

The two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, the regional and international situation, and recent developments in southern Lebanon and Gaza.

Lebanon is the second destination of the Iranian Foreign Minister's regional tour after Iraq.

Southern Lebanon witnessed a military escalation in conjunction with the Israeli war on Gaza, as the exchange of bombardments continues daily, albeit intermittently, between the occupation forces and the Lebanese Hezbollah across the international border.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation continues to launch unprecedented raids on the Gaza Strip since last Saturday, which led to the death of more than 1,500 people and the injury of 6,612, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

There is a great fear within Israeli circles that the war on Gaza will lead to the expansion of the scope of confrontations to Lebanon, the northern front, which means that the occupation may have to engage in a confrontation on two or more fronts.
