Several villages in the western sector of southern Lebanon were once again came under Israeli shelling early Thursday.
Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike in the vicinity of the town of Naqoura, the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported, adding that no human casualties or material damage were reported.
Israeli warplanes had been flying over the south and the city of Sidon late at night, breaking the sound barrier multiple times. The western sector's skies witnessed heavy bombardments fired from the Israeli side along the Blue Line, especially near the owns of Ramia and Aita al-Shaab.
The border area between Lebanon and the occupied Palestinian territories has witnessed an escalation in tensions since the beginning of last week, involving exchanges of gunfire across the Blue Line between armed factions and the Israeli occupation army. This has resulted in deaths and injuries on the Lebanese side.
