Italy and Turkiye Affirm Their “Strong” Will to Continue as Allied States

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, affirmed their "strong" will to continue to work for the common security of their countries and to continue the current partnership between them at the regional and European levels.

This came during a telephone call between the Italian Prime Minister and the Turkish President, according to a statement issued by the Italian Prime Minister.

The statement said that the two sides discussed their countries' close bilateral relations.

They expressed their strong will to continue to work "as allied states for common security and the resumption of the current intensive partnership at the regional, European and multilateral levels", according to the statement.
