Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Visits New Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy Headquarters

Abu Dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has toured the new headquarters of Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy (ADMA), part of AD Ports Group. ADMA specialises in training and qualifying national talent for careers in the maritime industry. During the visit, H.H. Sheikh Khaled reviewed the ADMA campus and its educational facilities and services.

According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Khaled was briefed on the academy's core training and qualification programmes. These programmes integrate theoretical learning with practical on-board training and simulation to prepare graduates for roles in collaboration with AD Ports Group's partners. H.H. Sheikh Khaled highlighted ADMA's role in supporting the maritime sector and enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy, focusing on shipping and logistics by equipping the sector with talent, expertise, and innovations.

H.H. Sheikh Khaled was accompanied by Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group; and Dr Yasser Al Wahedi, President of ADMA. AD Ports Group established ADMA to support the maritime sector with qualified personnel and strengthen the UAE's position as a hub for maritime education, training, research, and innovation.

The academy offers academic and training programmes for careers in the maritime sector, covering disciplines like shipping, maritime operations, marine engineering, and supply management. ADMA also provides technical and corporate training courses tailored to the maritime sector's needs, covering areas like simulation systems, supply chain management, human resources, and project management.

In addition to education, ADMA is involved in maritime research and development, offering solutions like intelligent business monitoring systems and smart vessel technologies. ADMA holds seven patents registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, including AI systems for earthquake prediction, carbon emissions detection, and psychological stress monitoring among trainees.
