Khalifa International Award Unveils Seven New Publications at Abu Dhabi Book Fair

Abu Dhabi: Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, part of Erth Zayed Philanthropies, is showcasing seven new publications at the 34th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF), held from 26th April to 5th May 2025 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). The General Secretariat of the Award is participating with a dedicated pavilion that displays its latest scientific publications in Arabic and English, focusing on date palm cultivation, production, and agricultural innovation.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Award's participation underscores its ongoing efforts to advance the date palm sector and promote agricultural innovation on national, regional, and international fronts. This engagement reflects the Award's dedication to disseminating specialized knowledge and sharing the outcomes of successful research and practical experiences that benefit the agricultural sector in the UAE and beyond, aligning with the UAE's leadership vision to foster a culture of innovation and sustainability.

The General Secretariat has announced the release of seven new books during the Award's Winners Honouring ceremony in its 17th session, 2025. These publications, which will be introduced to the public at the exhibition, include specialized studies in fields such as date palm cultivation and biotechnology. Noteworthy titles include the 'Date Palm Cultivation' books in Arabic and English, published in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), and the 'Mejhoul Variety: The Jewel of Dates' book in Indonesian, supported by the Indonesian Kalimantan Date Palm Association.

The publications are prepared by a group of researchers, academics, and international experts, aiming to document best practices and encourage sustainable solutions in agriculture. Dr. Abdelouahhab Alboukhari Zaid, the Award's Secretary-General, highlighted the significance of participating in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair as a vital opportunity to connect with specialists in the agricultural field. He emphasized the Award's role in supporting the date palm tree through awards, festivals, publications, and scientific documentation, thereby enriching both Arab and global libraries.

Dr. Zaid invited visitors to explore the new publications at the Award's booth, emphasizing the Award's commitment to its developmental, environmental, and humanitarian message through books as a tool for positive influence and change.
