Kuwait calls for extraordinary meeting of Arab human rights panel

KUWAIT, - The State of Kuwait on Tuesday called for holding an extraordinary meeting of the Arab Permanent Committee on Human Rights at the Arab League to look into response to the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Israeli occupation against Palestinians in Gaza.

The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry said in a press release that the call came due to the Israeli occupation's continued targeting of civilians, in addition to its collective punishment, in a flagrant breach of international humanitarian law and international human rights law.

It also came to urge the international community to seek to attain an immediate ceasefire, ensure humanitarian aid and lift the blockage on the Gaza Strip, the ministry said.
