Latifa bint Mohammed Hosts Majlis to Propel ‘Dubai Future Solutions – Prototypes for Humanity’ Programme

Dubai: H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, hosted a majlis at the Dubai Future Foundation, bringing together academic ventures and industry leaders from key public and private sector entities involved in the 'Dubai Future Solutions - Prototypes for Humanity' programme. The event underscored the programme's ongoing expansion and facilitated the advancement of various projects into active pilot and commercialisation stages within Dubai.

According to Emirates News Agency, the 'Dubai Future Solutions - Prototypes for Humanity' programme was inaugurated under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation, with the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed. The initiative aims to empower academic founders through a combination of funding, business expertise, and industry collaborations, transforming scientific research into practical solutions aligned with industry needs. Strategic partners supporting the programme include the Dubai Future Foundation, the Hussain Sajwani - DAMAC Foundation, and founding partner Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed emphasized Dubai's commitment to leveraging innovation for societal benefit and addressing global challenges. She highlighted the city's efforts to foster an environment conducive to the transformation of ambitious ideas into impactful solutions, guided by the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed. Dubai continues to establish itself as a global hub for innovation by enabling partnerships that promote experimentation and progress.

The majlis was attended by several prominent figures, including Mattar Al Tayer of the Roads and Transport Authority, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Eng. Marwan bin Ghalita of Dubai Municipality, and other key representatives from both public and private sectors. Discussions focused on ongoing collaborations, future opportunities, and the outcomes stemming from the programme's ecosystem.

Sheikha Latifa also engaged with prospective ventures and innovators from esteemed global institutions such as Harvard University and the Royal College of Art. The event featured the signing of strategic memoranda of understanding with AtkinsR©alis and Silal, emphasizing sustainable infrastructure and agricultural technologies. Collaboration with the Dubai Research, Development and Innovation Programme was also highlighted, showcasing efforts to support research advancement and commercialisation pathways. These partnerships underscore the programme's sector-focused approach and contribution to future resilience priorities.

The majlis reaffirmed the programme's significance as a catalyst for academic innovation in Dubai. The achievements of initial cohorts, such as Oxara, Virufy, and P-Vita, demonstrate the programme's success in generating economic value for both innovators and industry partners.
