The Lebanese government continues its efforts to stop the Israeli attacks and deter the Israeli entity from launching a comprehensive war on Lebanon, which is crystallized through the meetings and diplomatic efforts carried out by Prime Minister of the Lebanese caretaker government Najib Mikati, who recently confirmed that his country is "in the eye of the storm and we are seeking to spare it from war." Observers confirmed to Qatar News Agency that Mikatis meetings with presidents and regional and international officials fall within the framework of his efforts to stop the attacks on Lebanon and avoid a comprehensive war on Lebanon, which is suffering from an unprecedented economic crisis.
The last of these international meetings was the visit of the US envoy, Amos Hochstein. Hochstein informed Mikati that he was visiting Lebanon as an envoy of US President Joe Biden, to discuss the situation in southern Lebanon, and that he sensed through his talks that Lebanon and the Israeli entity did not want to escalate the situation.
In this context, the Head of Postgraduate Studies Department, Faculty of Political, Administrative & Diplomatic Sciences at the Islamic University - Lebanon, Dr. Ali Abdo, in an interview with Qatar News Agency , noted the government efforts with the Friends of Lebanon, which aim to try to stop the Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon.
Lebanon does not seek war, but rather constantly seeks to respect and implement international resolutions, including UN Resolution 1701, he said.
Dr. Ali Abdo condemned the Israeli entitys continuous targeting of civilians, ambulances, journalists and civilians, expressing his fears that the Israeli entitys practices would lead to a complex war in the Middle East and not just in Lebanon.
He stressed the need to hold the leaders of the Israeli entity accountable for their crimes, massacres and human rights violations.
Despite all this military escalation on the southern border, observers confirm that the field is the master of deciding the possibility of the Israeli entity launching a comprehensive war on Lebanon, expressing their hopes that diplomatic efforts will succeed in stopping the attacks and deterring the Israeli entity from moving forward with its aggressive intention.
