Lebanon’s Prime Minister Visits Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: Nawaf Salam, Prime Minister of Lebanon, visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, SZGM, in Abu Dhabi. He was accompanied by Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President; Dr. Ghassan Salam©, Minister of Culture of Lebanon; Fouad Chehab Dandan, Ambassador of Lebanon to the UAE, and his accompanying delegation.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Prime Minister, alongside Dr. Yousef Al-Obaidli, Director-General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, began his visit at the tomb of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The tour highlighted Sheikh Zayed's global advocacy for tolerance, coexistence, and peace. As the delegation explored the mosque's halls and sections, cultural specialists provided insights into its mission of promoting coexistence, tolerance, and acceptance, values championed by the Founding Father.

The visit also included an exploration of the mosque's Islamic architectural design and a briefing on its historical significance and its role in enhancing Islamic culture and fostering international cultural dialogue.

At the conclusion of the visit, SZGM officials presented Prime Minister Salam with a copy of the book "Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: Lights of Peace". The publication features the mosque's architectural splendor and includes award-winning photographs from the 'Spaces of Light' Award.
