Halmahera: A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck the Halmahera region in North Maluku Province in eastern Indonesia.
According to Emirates News Agency, Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers. So far, there have been no reports of material damage or casualties.
Earthquakes frequently affect parts of Indonesia, as the country is located along the Pacific Ocean's Ring of Fire. This area is known for its high level of tectonic activity, where multiple plates meet, leading to frequent volcanic and seismic events.
