Mansoor bin Mohammed Inaugurates Burj Rashid Exhibition

Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, along with H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, inaugurated the Burj Rashid Exhibition at the Al Safa Art and Design Library.

According to Emirates News Agency, the exhibition, organized by Dubai Culture under the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy and supported by the Sikka Platform, celebrates the 45th anniversary of Burj Rashid. It also marks the first edition of the 'Dubai Series' initiative, which annually highlights unique aspects of Dubai through creative narratives. This year's focus is on Burj Rashid as a symbol of Dubai's growth and prosperity.

The exhibition, running until 2nd May, underscores the tower's significance in Dubai's architectural, social, and economic evolution, reflecting the aspirations of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. This vision was continued by the late Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum and further strengthened under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, positioning Dubai as a global business hub.

During the exhibition tour, H.H. Sheikh Mansoor and H.H. Sheikha Latifa were briefed on various artworks celebrating Burj Rashid's cultural and architectural significance. They also interacted with participating artists, acknowledging their contributions to Dubai's cultural scene.

Organized in partnership with several entities including the Government of Dubai Media Office and the Dubai World Trade Centre, the exhibition features over 30 artists. Highlights include a poetry piece by Dr. Aref Alshaikh and artworks like 'Ramadan Cannon at Burj Rashid' by Sheikha Wafa bint Hasher Al Maktoum and 'Burj Rashid at Night' by Abdulraheem Salim.

Other notable pieces include 'Launch' by Ali Mrad and 'Rashid Pattern' by Nawal Ahmad Alblooshi. The exhibition also showcases innovative works using generative AI by Dr. Ahmad AlAttar and Mohamad AlHamadi, and contributions from artists like Sheikh Maktoum bin Marwan Al Maktoum, Alia AlShamsi, and others.

The exhibition is also supported by partners like 7X, Al Bayan, Gulf News, and Art Dubai, reflecting a collaborative effort to celebrate Dubai's cultural heritage.
