Mansour Bin Zayed Leads UAE Delegation at GCC Summit in Bahrain


Manama: On behalf of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, chaired the UAE delegation to the 46th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit, inaugurated by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed participated in the joint GCC-Italian session attended by Giorgia Meloni, the Prime Minister of Italy, and leaders of the GCC states and their representatives. The session centered on reinforcing cooperation between the GCC countries and Italy, aiming to expand joint actions and enhance relations to meet the aspirations of their peoples for development and prosperity.

The UAE delegation included notable figures such as H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; Suh
ail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State; Sheikh Nahyan bin Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Deputy Minister of State; and Fahad Mohammed bin Kardous Alameri, UAE Ambassador to Bahrain.

In its statement during the summit, the UAE highlighted that supporting joint Gulf action is crucial for enhancing the interests of GCC states, fulfilling the aspirations of their peoples, and securing stability, development, and prosperity in the region. The UAE emphasized the need to build on past achievements and move towards greater integration.

The UAE reiterated its commitment to GCC cooperation, driven by the belief in the historical ties and shared destiny of GCC states, and the potential they hold for enhancing joint action and achieving strategic interests. The UAE extended gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for successfully hosting the summit and supporting the GCC framework
for joint action.

The UAE also acknowledged the efforts of the State of Kuwait during its presidency of the previous GCC session, noting the achievements as significant contributions to the Council’s progress and a foundation for future cooperation. The UAE expressed its best wishes to the Kingdom of Bahrain for its leadership of the current session and appreciation for the efforts of ministers and the GCC’s General Secretariat in organizing the summit.
