MoEI and MoHRE Launch Multilingual Sustainable Guidelines for Domestic Workers

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), has introduced the Sustainable Guidelines for Domestic Workers, aligning with the Year of Community initiatives.

According to Emirates News Agency, the guidelines focus on promoting electricity and water conservation, aligning with the National Energy and Water Demand Side Management Programme's objectives. The initiative aims to instill a conservation culture and environmental awareness among domestic workers through practical guidelines, enhancing resource efficiency and reducing waste. This effort supports the country's climate neutrality goals and sustainable development initiatives.

MoEI has ensured that the guidelines are accessible in eight languages, catering to the diverse nationalities of domestic workers. This multilingual approach facilitates a comprehensive understanding of sustainable practices among a broad audience.

Eng. Fahad Al Hammadi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector at MoEI, emphasized the importance of engaging all societal segments in the UAE's sustainability goals. He highlighted that publishing the guidelines in multiple languages enhances the National Energy and Water Demand Side Management Programme's effectiveness and aligns with the 'We the UAE 2031' vision.

Dalal Al Shehhi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for the Labour Protection Sector at MoHRE, noted the significance of this initiative in promoting environmental awareness among domestic workers. She stressed the government's commitment to inclusivity and the initiative's impact across different societal segments, contributing to the nation's sustainability and climate neutrality goals.
