MoIAT and Airbus Forge Partnership to Enhance UAE Aerospace Industry

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus Africa and Middle East, aimed at advancing a domestic aerospace capability enhancement programme. This agreement was signed by Omar Suwaina Al Suwaidi, Under-Secretary of MoIAT, and Gabriel Semelas, President of Airbus Africa and the Middle East, during the Make it in the Emirates 2025 event, the UAE's premier industrial platform.

According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU establishes a framework for long-term collaboration between the two entities to support the UAE's national industrial objectives. This includes initiatives for supplier development, skills transfer, and integrating local companies into Airbus's global value chain. The initiative is in line with the UAE's National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, which aims to position the country as a global hub for future industries.

Make it in the Emirates 2025, held under the theme 'Advanced Industries. Accelerated', is poised to be the largest edition yet, with over 700 exhibitors and more than 3,800 locally manufactured products on display across 68,000 square meters of exhibition space. The event capitalizes on more than AED160 billion in offtake opportunities, linked to over 4,800 products identified for local manufacture.

This event underscores the UAE's commitment to advancing its industrial sector, establishing strategic partnerships, and accelerating the adoption of advanced technologies, thereby reinforcing its position in the global industrial landscape.
