Nahyan bin Mubarak Welcomes Menlo College Students for UAE’s AGI Programme

Abu dhabi: Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, welcomed a delegation of Menlo College students participating in the Academic Global Immersion (AGI) programme during their visit to his majlis in Abu Dhabi. The programme, organised by Menlo College, is scheduled to run in the UAE from January 3 to 18.

According to Emirates News Agency, the initiative is designed to enhance international educational experiences, foster academic cooperation, and facilitate knowledge exchange between the UAE and global academic institutions. Sheikh Nahyan praised the efforts in hosting the group of students and highlighted the UAE's commitment to prioritizing education as a cornerstone of sustainable development and a means to prepare future generations for global contributions.

Sheikh Nahyan emphasized that the AGI programme underscores the UAE's status as a global hub for education, innovation, and intercultural dialogue. He noted that the programme provides students with opportunities to engage with global business environments and explore practices in artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, leadership, and critical thinking-areas that align with the UAE's vision of an innovation-driven knowledge economy.

The programme's implementation in Abu Dhabi and Dubai allows students to gain insights into market dynamics through interactions with senior executives and experts in sectors such as finance, logistics, technology, energy, and real estate. Students also visit leading institutions and companies and tackle real market challenges with regional partners.

Sheikh Nahyan explained that the programme goes beyond academics, introducing students to Emirati identity, cultural heritage, and values of tolerance and mutual respect through visits to cultural landmarks. During the meeting, he heard a presentation on AGI's objectives, which focus on preparing global leaders with integrity and awareness to tackle challenges like poverty and environmental degradation through innovative solutions.

He reiterated the UAE's support for international educational initiatives that promote dialogue and cooperation, stating that investing in education is investing in the future of humanity. Sheikh Nahyan encouraged students to maximize their experience in the UAE and engage with the country's development model, which balances modernity with cultural authenticity.

The Menlo College students and academic delegation expressed gratitude for the reception and praised the UAE's role in supporting international education and fostering innovation and academic excellence. They stated that their participation in the AGI programme represents a valuable educational and human experience, enhancing their skills and readiness for the global workforce.
