DUBAI: Ghanshyam Giri, Mayor of Chandragiri Municipality, Kathmandu, Nepal, stated that the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2024 is an opportunity for all governments worldwide to envision future opportunities and challenges, and to develop solutions for the most pressing global issues. 'It is a platform for discussing common visions to enhance government work and strengthen cooperation among governments worldwide,' he added. Mayor Ghanshyam expressed his pride in participating in the forums of the WGS, stating to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) during his participation in the third day activities of the summit in Dubai. He highlighted the benefit of expert discussions from around the world on sustainable development and the development of inspiring ideas and plans on how to develop businesses and optimally utilise local resources for small and developing communities. He explained that his country needs to learn from the experiences of others in developing and organizing government administration. He noted t hat the WGS hosted by the UAE is a global platform for all government representatives in various sectors, leading to the exchange of governmental expertise and the adoption of suitable practices to be applied in Nepal. The WGS 2024 concludes its third and final day in Dubai under the theme "Shaping Future Governments" with broad regional and international participation. The summit, on its final day, witnessed the participation of several heads of states and governments, and brought together 140 government delegations and over 85 international and regional organizations and global institutions, in addition to a select group of global thought leaders and experts, with the presence of more than 4000 participants.
