Beirut: Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), met with Nabih Berri, Speaker for the Lebanese Parliament, at the parliament headquarters in Beirut as part of his official visit to the Lebanese capital. During the meeting, Ghobash conveyed the greetings of the UAE leadership and affirmed the UAE's commitment to strengthening the longstanding fraternal and historical relations between the UAE and Lebanon, which encompass decades of cooperation across political, economic, and cultural fields.
According to Emirates News Agency, the two sides explored ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various domains, emphasizing the importance of parliamentary collaboration between the two councils. They discussed the exchange of visits and expertise to benefit both nations and their peoples.
Both parties underscored the significance of reinforcing parliamentary relations between the two countries and coordinating positions on a range of shared concerns. Foremost among these concerns are Arab national security and Arab solidarity, as well as mechanisms of support, cooperation, and coordination in light of the enduring fraternal ties between the UAE and Lebanon across multiple sectors.
