Sharjah: The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) has commenced the implementation of a directive from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to set the annual fees for holders of home licences in the Friday Market and nearby shops in Mleiha at AED 1.
According to Emirates News Agency, Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Chairman of SEDD, emphasized the importance of this area and highlighted the Ruler of Sharjah's continuous support for citizens in accessing markets and engaging in business initiatives.
He further explained that the "I'timad" licence plays a vital role in regulating home-based commercial activities. It encourages Emirati men and women to participate in the economy and supports their entrepreneurial ideas and initiatives in investing in private ventures.
