Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Institutional Excellence Award (Tamayuz), expressed gratitude to all the organisations involved in the first edition of the award. Their participation demonstrates their dedication to enhancing performance, striving for excellence, and delivering improved services across various areas.
According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Sultan emphasised that the main aim of this award is to inspire organisations to enhance their performance and achieve excellence. He mentioned that the brainstorming session is an opportunity to collect fresh ideas and suggestions, as well as to receive valuable feedback that can help improve the award. This involves examining its different categories and criteria, while also acknowledging what is working well and where there is room for improvement.
H.H. Sheikh Sultan pointed out that there are many paths, but the goal is one: to achieve institutional excellence. He emphasised the importance of establishing the foundations of a culture of excellence and instilling it within institutions and employees to ensure its continuity and sustainability in the future.
The brainstorming session kicked off with a film that was watched by H.H. Sheikh Sultan and the audience. The film explored the rivalry among big international companies and discussed how they're trying to put governance in place. It also highlighted the challenges different industries face in the competitive global market.
The film concluded by focusing on the importance of achieving accomplishments at the institutional level, moving away from individual and personal work and accomplishments, in addition to the realism of decisions based on consultation and avoiding unilateral decision-making.
The session included a review of the key developments of the "Tamayuz" Award, which aims to foster a culture of excellence and competitiveness, focusing on improving performance and institutional development, increasing institutional efficiency, developing services, achieving customer happiness, and qualifying human resources to acquire the skills and capabilities they need.
The discussion also addressed the award categories for the first cycle, the award's timeline, the methods used for awareness and training, the electronic system, evaluation of entries, field visits, and the proposed new categories.
