Sultan Bin Ahmed Witnesses MoU Signing Between UOS and STCAS

Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Sharjah (UOS) and the Sharjah Training Centre for Airports Science (STCAS) at his office at the University.

According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU was signed by Sheikh Khalid bin Issam Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Civil Aviation Department and Chairman of the Board of Directors of STCAS, and Professor Dr. Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah. The agreement aims to integrate the University's academic expertise with the Centre's operational expertise in aviation. The partnership includes designing joint academic programmes in aviation management and incorporating accredited training courses such as 'Air Traffic Control' into the academic curricula.

The collaboration will provide an educational environment using advanced simulation labs and air traffic control simulators to ensure students receive practical training. It will also offer training and employment opportunities, creating direct links to the labour market and establishing career pathways, including job fairs and professional development programmes.

The MoU outlines the creation of practical training programmes at the Centre's facilities and Sharjah International Airport. It promotes scientific research and innovation to address challenges in aviation, launching research projects in areas like aviation safety, sustainability, and artificial intelligence applications.

The partnership will support talent development and professional growth, offering scholarship programmes for high-achieving students and organising professional development programmes for university and Centre staff. It aims to build a sustainable network of experts and graduates through forums, seminars, and leadership dialogues to facilitate ongoing knowledge exchange.
