Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Communication Technologies Authority (SCTA), witnessed the signing of a strategic partnership agreement between the SCTA and the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) at H.H.'s office.
According to Emirates News Agency, Rashid Ali Al Ali, Executive Director of SCTA, and Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of du, signed the agreement with the aim of strengthening strategic partnership and cooperation. The collaboration focuses on developing the infrastructure system for telecommunications services and accelerating network expansion across the Emirate and its affiliated regions. This initiative seeks to improve service quality and meet sustainable development requirements.
The agreement is set to enhance the implementation of vital telecommunications projects in Sharjah. It allows du to develop and operate modern, sustainable infrastructure that aligns with smart city requirements, ultimately contributing to improved service quality for individuals and economic sectors.
The partnership includes a plan to develop an integrated digital infrastructure serving various areas of the Emirate. The SCTA will provide the necessary facilities for du to execute its projects. Additionally, the cooperation involves studying the establishment of a fully integrated data center in Kalba City and a secure marine landing station for submarine cables, thereby strengthening Sharjah's position as a digital connectivity hub. The agreement also grants du access to strategic sites within the Emirate to expand network coverage and enhance telecommunications services in line with approved regulatory frameworks.
