Manama: TRENDS Research and Advisory is set to participate in the Seventh Annual Forum (Derasat) of the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies. The event will take place from December 22-23 in Manama, in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Forum will include sessions and workshops that explore the crucial role of think tanks in transitioning from knowledge production to influencing policy formulation. The focus will be on building advanced institutional tools and developing capabilities to convert research outputs into contributions for comprehensive development pathways.
The Forum will also emphasize future policy analysis tools, showcasing advanced applications of big data and artificial intelligence. It aims to inform adaptable planning and build new analytical capabilities within think tanks to enhance their presence in the regional development landscape, thereby improving institutional performance efficiency.
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, highlighted the Forum's significance as a platform for unifying visions among prominent think tanks and research institutions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in the Arab region and globally. He stressed that TRENDS' participation reflects the organization's belief in the active role of think tanks in shaping future policies and strategies.
Dr. Al-Ali noted that the Forum provides an opportunity to exchange institutional experiences and develop analytical tools to transform research outputs into tangible contributions. He emphasized the importance of employing future tools like artificial intelligence to anticipate scenarios and analyze policies, stating that these technologies are fundamental to producing adaptable policies for complex regional and global challenges.
The CEO further stated that TRENDS extends its role beyond diagnosing reality to proposing scientific and strategic solutions that enhance sustainable development paths. Through research focused on economic, social, and environmental aspects, TRENDS aims to contribute proactive scientific visions and draw up efficient policies to accelerate development in Arab countries. The center seeks to enhance cooperation and build partnerships with leading think tanks worldwide, strengthening collective action in support of the Arab and international development landscape.
