Istanbul:Trkiye exported more than $10 billion in defense and aerospace products to 180 countries and regions in 2025, as announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
According to Emirates News Agency, Erdogan revealed this milestone during the Trkiye Innovation Week 2026 event held in Istanbul. He emphasized the country's initiatives to enhance research capabilities, support technology startups, and accelerate production with higher value.
Erdogan highlighted the impact of Trkiye's national technology initiative, which has established a significant research and development infrastructure, matched by only a few countries globally. He also outlined the country's ambition to nurture 100,000 technology startups by 2030, aiming for a combined valuation of $100 billion.
Additionally, Erdogan mentioned plans to convert the terminal buildings at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport into the world's largest technology and entrepreneurship center, branded as Terminal Istanbul. He underscored the importance of investing in advanced technology for Trkiye, describing it as a necessity rather than a choice, and stressed the need to expedite the transition to high value-added production.
