ISTANBUL, - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday lashed out at Western silence about the dire humanitarian crisis of the Gaza Strip.
"The silence of the Western countries also escalated the humanitarian crisis in Gaza to an unavertable level," the president was quoted by Anadolu news agency as saying.
He made the remark while speaking with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin over the phone, focusing on Gaza escalation and the humanitarian crisis in the Palestinian enclave.
He added that the brutality directed toward Palestinian lands is deepening and civilian casualties are increasing every minute.
However, the Turkish president underlined that his country would continue to make every effort to ensure peace in the region.
