UAE Air Defences Engage Seven Ballistic Missiles, 16 UAVs from Iran

Abu dhabi: The UAE air defence systems on 23rd March 2026 engaged seven ballistic missiles and 16 UAVs launched from Iran. Since the onset of the Iranian aggression, UAE air defences have been actively intercepting various threats.

According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE's defence systems have engaged a total of 352 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,789 UAVs. These confrontations have unfortunately led to the martyrdom of two members of the UAE armed forces, alongside six additional fatalities among individuals of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian origins.

In total, 161 individuals have sustained injuries due to these attacks, varying from minor to severe. The injured include nationals from a wide range of countries, including but not limited to the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, and the Philippines. Other affected nationalities include Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, and several others.

The Ministry of Defence has emphasized its readiness to tackle any threats and has assured that it will confront attempts to compromise state security. The Ministry remains committed to protecting the sovereignty, security, and stability of the UAE, while safeguarding its national interests and capabilities.
