UAE and Azerbaijan Strengthen Labour Market Cooperation

Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Azerbaijan are taking steps to enhance their bilateral cooperation in the labour market sector, focusing on attracting skilled Azerbaijani professionals to work in the UAE. This initiative aligns with the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the two nations, which became effective in July 2025.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) organized a meeting that facilitated discussions between Azerbaijani recruitment agencies and representatives from 25 UAE-based recruitment agencies and labour supply companies. The meeting aimed to explore the process of integrating Azerbaijani expertise into the UAE job market across various economic sectors, further strengthening the historical partnership between the two countries.

The objectives of this meeting are crucial to the UAE's ongoing efforts to make its labour market more appealing and to attract skilled, qualified professionals. This initiative is part of the UAE's broader economic development goals and aligns with MoHRE's role in supporting government policies and executing agreements and partnerships.

The discussions during the meeting also highlighted key areas and proposals for cooperation, focusing on designing and implementing training programmes for Azerbaijani workers relocating to the UAE. The goal is to enhance their skills and ensure they meet the specific requirements of the UAE labour market.
